The Sheraton Grand Macao Hotel, Cotai Central located at Estrada do Istmo. s/n, Cotai, Macau SAR, P.R. China is currently hiring a Director, Conventions & Banquets.
Key Responsibilities:
-To always be up to date with financial results (budget versus actual) in sales and cost areas and ensure that sales and profit are maximized. Ensure the food and beverage management team are totally accountable for their operational budgets.
-To prepare along with the Convention Services Team and hotel marketing department, a yearly marketing plan for the convention area to drive local and region business. (Weddings, local meetings, exhibitions, dinner etc).
-To continuously seek ways to assist Convention Services and Sales Managers to maximize revenues and profits.
-To spend time in the Convention area (during peak periods) to ensure the operation is managed well by the convention teams and functions properly.
-Provide leadership, guidance, vision and development opportunities to associates. Provide timely feedback, and embrace and promote associate’s personal development. Project a positive and motivated attitude amongst associates. Ensure the timely completion of online performance management processes.
-To ensure that each manager plans and implements effective training programs for their respective associates in conjunction with the Training Manager
-Be well versed and knowledgeable of the hotels and local regulations dictating fire and evacuation procedures as well as health and safety requirements.
-To be familiar with hotel facilities and activities.
-To support and be committed to the benefits of multi-skilling to ensure maximum team work, moral, Starwood Cares and productivity where assistance is required.
Job Requirements:
-5 to 8 years in a senior food and beverage management position within banquets and conventions.
-Strong organizational skills.
-Creativity and innovation.
-Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written in English.
-Strong knowledge of food and beverage & banquet operational skills.
-High school, diploma in hotel management or equivalent education required.
