JOB DESCRIPTION
Operational
To ensure that the departmental operation budget is strictly adhered to and that all costs are strictly controlled.
To assist Director of Catering carry out the operations and personnel management of the Sales Department.
To ensure that all Sales activities are managed effectively.
To entertain key accounts when required.
Build relationship with accounts based on “win –win” negotiations, problems solving and mutual trust and to maximize potential business.
To ensure all the reports are submitted in a timely manner.
To entertain key accounts when required.
Training and Development
Energize JW Marriott Standards and ensure department implementation.
Arrange the training session for the Sales Team.
Conduct Rap session with Sales Team at least once every quarter.
To assist Director of Catering to set SMART Goals
To assist Director of Catering to set up clear guidelines and expectation for each associates to follow up on the progress.
Ensure that all sales associates are conducting business according to The Marriott set guidelines.
Marketing
Identify market needs and trends
Monitor and analyze selected competitors’ sales promotions, activities and tactics.
To provide constant feedback by means of reports to improve the product and refine the services of the department and the entire hotel.
Coordination with other departments
Responsible in day to day liaison with other departments for smooth operations procedures in Sales.
Prepare periodic reports
Participate in the preparation of monthly report and other reports according to business needs.
Office Etiquette & Business Ethics
To be a leader and create a strong professional relationship among the members of the Sales Team.
Ensure that all associates are properly dressed in uniform or business attire and the general appearance are according to the hotel standard.
To ensure that all associates provide courteous and professional service at all times to clients and other hotel employees.
Make certain that all associates are conducting business according to The Marriott guidelines and local law.
In charge of the overall conduct of the Sales team such as telephone handling, punctuality, compliance to the hotel rules, regulations and LSOP.
To maintain an efficient filing system following the set guidelines.
