职位描述

Assistant Director of Public Relations plans, directs, controls, coordinates and participates in all communication activities with an emphasis on public and media relations. Under the guidance and supervision of the General Manager/Department head and within the limits of established hotel policies and procedures, they promote good quality and positive communications in order to promote and enhance the image of the hotel. In addition, the Assistand Director Public Relations enhances the awareness of the Kempinski brand as one of the world's finest hotel groups amongst target audiences as defined in the hotel's and group's strategic marketing and Public Relations plan.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Strategic Responsibilities:
  1. Develop annual Public Relations plan with specific goals and budget as outlined in the hotel's strategic marketing plan and the group's Public Relations plan. Prepare roadmap to achieve goals, as well as update and adjust plans according to market situation and ensure the communications team is fully briefed on goals and progress.
  2. Work closely with F&B and Sales department to map out promotional activities for the year. 
  3. Advise the General Manager and hotel senior management on communications to ensure that messages are clear, consistent and aligned with the hotel's business strategy and Kempinski's overall messaging.
  4. Build and maintain relationships with key local decision makers and the local social community to promote positive exposure of the hotel.

  • Public Relations:
  1. Assume responsibility for pitching and securing local story placements for the hotel and on behalf of the Kempinski brand. Develop customized story pitches based upon media needs and handle reactive media relations in a timely manner and within 24 hours.
  2. Work closely with Corporate Public Relations and regional press offices on developing story angles specific for the international markets.
  3. Draft hotel press releases and General Manager's speeches.
  4. Distribute newsworthy hotel press releases to local media, regional Public Relations offices and Corporate Public Relations for onward media distribution.
  5. Act as the official spokesperson for the hotel when appropriate.
  6. Create and organize appropriate press activities in accordance with the annual communications plan.
  7. Initiate, arrange and accompany visiting press groups. Develop customized and interesting trip itinerary based upon media interests and needs. 
  8. Handle crisis media communications with support and guidance from Corporate communications.
  9. Prepare and educate hotel spokespeople for media interaction through creation of media Q&A and background briefings.
  10. Conduct press blitzes when appropriate.
  11. Ensure online and hardcopy press kits are readily available and up-to-date.
 
  • Photography:
  1. Direct photography for editorial and advertising purposes in liaison with the Director of Sales & Marketing, advertising agency and corporate brand marketing.

  • Social Media:
  1. Develop social media strategies and messages for the year.
  2. Monitor fans' comments and provides relevant responses, when required.




  • Education: BA/BSc in Hospitality Management or related field, preferably from hotel school or MBA.
  • Experience: To fill the position, the following is required: 
    1. Minimum 2 years in PR management role, preferably with a 5-stars Hotel chain.
  • Language: 
    1. Ability to work and communicate in a multinational environment.
    2. Local language – excellent oral and written skills. 
    3. English – excellent oral and written skills. Additional language – beneficial.
  • Competencies: 
    1. Ability to work independently, thrive under pressure in challenging circumstances and come up with proactive, rational solutions. 
    2. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
    3. Ability to establish and retain effective working relationships with hotel staff and clients/vendors. 
    4. Ability to identify and delegate tasks effectively. 
    5. Excellent organizational and time management skills. 
    6. Applies a professional, confidential and ethical approach at all times. 
    7. Works in a safe, prudent and organized manner.
