1. To conduct credit investigations so that intelligent informed decision of customers’ credit worthiness, character and ability to pay may be ascertained to justify extension of credit.
2. To ensure the collection of accounts receivable is kept at allowed credit term and limit.
3. To maintain good relations with hotel customers including but not limited to wholesalers, corporate clients, hotel guests, travel agents, tour operators, function organisers, airlines etc.
4. To review supporting documents verifying the accuracy of the balance of receivables.
5. To monitor and investigate high balance and customers without approved credit for appropriate actions.
6. To recommend the write off of uncollectible accounts only after a comprehensive pursuit of outstanding monies has taken place.
7. To report immediately any unfavourable information received affecting a customer’s credit standing so that appropriate action may be taken.
8. To report directly to Financial Controller on all matters affecting credit and collection.
9. To supervise the activities of the credit staff in order to achieve an efficient and effective performance of each individuals duties and responsibilities.
10. To maintain an up-to-date Credit Policies and ensure that they are strictly adhered to and enforced.
11. To work closely with the Accounts Receivable Officer and/ or Clerk to follow up on overdue accounts.
12. To schedule credit meetings at least once a month.
13. To ensure that the number of debtor days outstanding is within the acceptable range as stipulated in the policies and procedures manual.
14. Ensures that the month end processes are completed in a timely and accurate manner.
15. Prepares all supporting documentation for monthly allowances and monthly journal vouchers relating to the receivables ledger.
16. Ensures the timely and accurate entry of all credits to the various accounts.
17. Handles all customer queries in a timely and effective manner, using preventative rather than curative measures.
18. Pro-actively follows up on any outstanding accounts to ensure the hotel is protected from loss.
19. Prepares all necessary reports pertaining to accounts receivable.
20. Processes and controls all sundry payments made by credit card.
21. To maintain register and records of tenancy agreements and monitor rental collections.
22. Maintains an adequate and up to date filing system.
23. Flexible in relation to working hours, particularly around month end.
24. To perform any additional tasks assigned to ensure that the hotel functions smoothly.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
1. University degree in Finance and Accounting.
2. Minimum of 8 years working experience in Finance with at least 3 years similar position held at previous employment preferably in hospitality industry.
3. Excellent in written and spoken Chinese and minimum China Grade 4 of English Proficiency.
