Job overview

The Senior Wedding Manager will assist Director of MICE in developing wedding market, through the effective execution of the enquiry handling process, steps to conversion, and the preparation of proposals, quotations, and checking product information and customer requirements. This role also involves working closely with wedding team to develop expertise in understanding sectorial/customer needs, as well as Revenue Management to maximize lead conversion and drive incremental revenue, and the management of the wedding team in daily tasks.

Duties and Responsibilities

· Develop deep understanding and knowledge of key sectors targeted by hotel, and gain sectorial/account expertise when necessary to maximise lead conversion rate

· Ensure the timely follow up and pursuit of business with customers and stakeholders in order to drive the highest levels of conversion

· Conduct and/or assist Sales team in customer negotiation process

· Conduct proposal negotiation process and assist Business Development team where necessary

· Handle contract signing process

· Updated lead status in relevant systems and communicates lead status to relevant Business Development staff (e.g. account owner)

Maintain effective control of MICE Fulfilment Team expenses

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

Degree or Diploma. A minimum of one year of relevant experience or equivalent work experience in team management, and 2 – 5 years of relevant experience in customer relations in Hospitality or a related service industry. Type and level of experience required may vary slightly based on size and complexity of operation.

Expected to possess the following skills:

· Experience and knowledge of establishing and mentoring an office based sales team

· Good communication and negotiation skills

· Ability to take initiative, meet deadlines and commitments, and complete tasks and projects as required.

· Strong organizing skills required to maintain electronic and paper filing systems

· A high level of knowledge pertaining to policy and procedure and communicates knowledge effectively to all personnel when applicable.

· Demonstrates clear and effective verbal and written skills for the purpose of obtaining and conveying information to clients, technicians, management and team members as well as producing reports

· Excellent PC skills (including MS Office)
