Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Manhattan Director of Operations, the primary responsibilities for the Manhattan Assistant Director of Operations include but are not limited to the following:
 

Operational Duties and Staff Management
• Manage and oversee all operational departments, including Miku Restaurant, Manhattan Club, Atelier Speakeasy and Broadway Event Space.
• Ensure quality of food and service is kept to the very highest of standards at all times.
• Manage club floor operations ensuring allocated tables and reservations is monitored very closely, Optimum positioning of guests enhances venue atmosphere and guest enjoyment and this must be monitored and managed closely
• Ensure table minimum spends are adhered to.
• Monitor minimum spend tables and adjust minimum spends as and when required in line with Manhattan Director of Operations guidelines.
• Monitor breakage and wastage, implement procedures to ensure minimum expenditure at all times.
• Contribute feedback to kitchen and other management staff on all aspects of the guests’ experience.
• Implement practices and procedures and consistently review operational standards with the aim of always improving speed and service quality.
• Manage other departments (Security, Housekeeping, Stewarding, Culinary, Entertainers and other Outsourced Assistance) operating with Manhattan, ensuring co-operation, information and team work are always paramount and a single team ethic is created and maintained at all times.
• Monitor stock levels and assist department heads in stocktaking procedures.
• Ensuring venue set up, table set up and venue cleanliness it to an exceptionally high standard.
• Handle guest issues carefully and promptly.
• Works closely with reservations/sales to ensure a personal experience is created for all our guests.
• Monitor and assist with floor service ensuring guest expectations are always exceeded.


Event Management
• Work closely with Hotel Event Sales and Manhattan Event Sales to ensure all events are managed and operated smoothly and effectively.
• Assist with BEO and Event payment systems, notifying correct departments and assisting with the smooth operation of all events.
• Check and assist with food and beverage costing.
• Ensure all events abide by Chinese Health and Safety standards and hotel procedures.


Office Duties/Back of House Duties
• Oversee and ensure schedules are compiled and accurate to the venues operational needs, that AL and CL is managed accordingly and that optimum staffing levels are maintained for service and operational requirements.
• Attend and contribute to all Operational and Marketing/Events meetings. Chair Ops Meeting in Director of Operations absence.
• Assist with guest data base management and compilation of guest preferences and spending power.
• Monitor maintenance issues and the reporting of maintenance issues are done promptly and rectified swiftly. Ensure that the venue is always in immaculate condition.
• Contribute ideas and feedback to sales/marketing and department heads.
• Conduct regular department meetings with all departments ensuring brand directions and Manhattan Director of Operations message and vision is thoroughly understood.
• Ensure stock levels for bar, store, consumables, guest suppliers and all other inventory is maintained and par levels are followed and adjusted as per calendar event requirements.


Sales/Bar Promoters and Commission Based Guest Management
• Source and manage sales managers and bar promoter teams.
• Ensure commission payments are being done and managed correctly.
• Monitor commissions and ensure ethical behavior and accurate payments are managed correctly.
• Liaise with finance departments and execute payments and questions in a quick and effective manner.
• Expand promoters and concierge contacts constantly expanding the Manhattan sales team network.


Hotel Duties
• Co-Ordinate all hotel operational requirements and guide Manhattan Director of Operations through hotel procedures and systems as and when required.
• Ensure all hotel policies and procedures are maintained and discuss alternative systems or polices as and when required to ensure maximum operational and functional performance of Manhattan.
• Liaise with all hotel departments and ensure Manhattan is consistently well represented at all internal activities.
• Monitor and compile MC Ordering procedures are followed and purchases are handled and received promptly.


General
• Must act professionally and appropriately at all times.
• Assist in all areas of the venue operation as and when directed
• Ensure all staff to conduct themselves with the utmost integrity.
• Follow all legal and hotel regulations.
• Assist HR with recruitment of new staff as well as KPI’s and staff performance evaluation.
• Offer solutions to problems, problem solve and assist in all areas of venue operation as and when required.
• Ensure training and staff development is taking place and that accurate and up to date records of training are kept and monitored.
• Perform other tasks as and when directed to assist the smooth operation of the venue.
• Lead by example at all times, this is a very active role and you will need to monitor all Department Heads and Supervisors as well as assist with the management of all Manhattan employees and outsourced staff.
• Act as Director of Operations for Manhattan in absence of Manhattan Director of Operations.


Qualifications:

• 1+ Year Nightclub/Skybar/Lifestyle Lounge bar experience either as a Manager, Ast Manager/ Floor Manager or Snr Supervisor.
• Good spoken English and Chinese.
• Able to problem solve and pre-empt issues and problems.
• Exceptional guest relations skills.
• Ability to train, lead and mentor staff.
• Business orientated and goal driven.
• Outgoing personality.
• No social media activities that would bring the brand and venue into disrepute.
