About the location:
Nestled on a private island in Jinji Lake, Four Seasons Hotel Suzhou emerges as a tranquil oasis embraced by lush gardens and sparkling waters. As an urban resort, it stands just steps from the city’s core—yet within its bounds lies a tranquil sanctuary, where the hustle of downtown softens into serene privacy. The Hotel features 199 guest rooms and suites complemented by 11 standalone villas, providing an idyllic sanctuary for family gatherings, romantic getaways, or business stays.
About the role:
This role ensures compliance with local and corporate policies for House Banks. It retrieves deposit envelopes with security, audits cashiers’ daily deposits, prepares the hotel’s daily deposit, and manages own bank and safe. It processes foreign currencies, prepares/distributes cashiers’ due backs, issues cashier banks, maintains related logs and files, handles petty cash disbursements, files documents, and completes other duties assigned by finance leadership.
What you will do:
• Ensure all local and corporate policies, rules, internal controls and procedures and safeguards are in place, as they relate to House Banks.
• Retrieve deposit envelopes from the drop safe for processing, accompanied by a Security Officer or the Director of Finance's designate.
• Audit cashiers’ daily deposits and prepare the daily hotel deposit.
• Count, balance, organize and monitor own Bank and safe.
• Process foreign currencies in accordance to local policy.
• Prepare and distribute Cashiers’ due backs.
• Prepare the Daily Cash Report.
• Issue Cashier Banks and assign safety deposit boxes for safekeeping of the Banks.
• Prepare and maintain a log on all issued House Banks.
• Make petty cash disbursements according to established guidelines.• Perform any additional duties as assigned by the Director of Finance or Assistant Director of Finance.
• Maintain an accurate, orderly and up-to-date file for all outstanding Bank contracts.
• File documents and reports.• Conduct House Bank audits on a regular basis, according to established guidelines.
• Report all cash discrepancies to the Assistant Director of Finance immediately.
• Solve any deposit discrepancies directly with the bank, while keeping the Assistant Director of Finance aware of the status of said discrepancies.
• Assist in cashier training and be available as needed to support cashiers in solving problems in cash handling procedures.
• Assist in other areas of the accounting office as needed.
What you bring:
• College degree preferably specializing in hotel/restaurant management or equivalent experience is required.
• One to two years previous experience in same position.
• Requires reading, writing and oral proficiency in the English language.
• Mandarin Speaking and Work authorization in China is a must.
