l The overall scope of, providing a courteous, professional, efficient and flexible service consistent with the standards of Hudson in order to encourage sales and maximize guest satisfaction. To provide an appropriate welcome at Restaurants for guests and potential guests, maximizing their dining experience using technical and individual social skills.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
l Meet and greet all guests, and potential guests, at the front of the Restaurant by ensuring the following:
l Ensure the restaurant is ready to receive guests prior to opening and that both staff and tables are ready in line with opening standards
l Ensure restaurant operating equipment is clean and in working order
l Welcoming guests to the Restaurant, by using the Restaurant name
l Inquiring if they have a reservation and noting it in the reservation book if they do
l Creating a reservation for them with their dining preferences if they do not and noting it in the reservation book.
l Being attentive to guest requests
l Escort guests to their preferred table or reserved table and seat guests according to restaurant standards
l Train staff hostess standards
l Be attentive to guests and resolve their complaints where possible, reporting all incidents to Supervisor
l Maintain responsibility of cleanliness of hostess stations
l Maintain responsibility of cleanliness of all menus and drink menus
l Report to duty punctually wearing the correct uniform, clean and well pressed including appropriate shoes (polished) at all times according to the Hudson dress code & grooming standards, maintaining a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene at all times.
l A courteous, professional and efficient service is provided at all times.
l All duties and tasks are performed as per the tasks required at the Hudson.
l Be knowledgeable of all services and products offered by Hudson.
l Have the knowledge and understanding to explain and perform upselling all items offered by Hudson as well as offering alternatives.
l Monitor operating supplies, equipment and reduce spoilage and wastage successfully.
l Ensure that the place of work and surrounding area is kept clean and organized at all times.
l Successfully perform opening and closing procedures established for Hudson.
l Handle guest enquiries in a courteous and efficient manner and report guest complaints and feedback to supervisors.
l Report guest complaints immediately to the supervisors and ensuring follow up is performed with the guest.
l Being knowledgeable to operate the existing POS system based on the trained responsibility level.
l Maintain a good rapport and work relation with staff in the Hudson and within the TCS.
l Attend and contribute to all staff meetings, training.
l Undertake reasonable tasks and secondary duties as assigned by restaurant manager.
l Respond to any changes in the Hudson as dictated by management.
l Assist in carrying out scheduled inventories of products and operating equipment.
l Perform any other assigned reasonable duties and responsibilities as assigned.
l Projecting at all times a positive and motivated attitude and exercise self-control.
l Maintain and update the restaurants guest database.
l Maintain a legible and up to date reservation book
l Maintain and coordinate the printing of the respective restaurant menus.
l Ability to work under pressure
l Presentable, cheerful manner and willing to serve
l Excellent communication skills in both written & spoken English, advantage with other language proficiencies
