岗位职责/职位描述

Position Summary 

This is a leadership position overseeing the entire commercial organization and its performance for Wyndham Hotels and Resorts for Greater China. The person is responsible for leading the sales team as well as leading the loyalty program team and the revenue management team, and executing all commercial strategy in the region. He / She is responsible for actively participating as a member of the Global Sales & Distribution leadership team and working closely with Sales Operations and Planning and Sales Communications. This role also provides guidance to the sales and marketing teams of Wyndham Hotels & Resorts managed hotels in Greater China, both in pre-opening and operating status, hotel owners/managers and the master licensee teams in China.

 

Responsibilities 

Overall Focus

·         Develop / execute comprehensive commercial strategy and operating plan for Greater China’s global sales team, revenue management team and loyalty program team.

·         Develop / maintain strong top-to-top relationships with key customers in each of the sales segments

·         Develop / manage processes that maximize franchisee / owner participation and master licensee participation in WHR commercial programs

·         Partner effectively with Brand Operations, HIT, Marketing, Master Licensees and Franchisees / Owners

·         Highly autonomous in building/managing relationships both internally and externally

·         Strategic and tactical decision-making on a daily basis

·         Significant budget oversight

·         Drive hotel revenues ($100s of millions)

 

Driving Performance

·         Works closely with the Operations Team, managed hotel General Managers and hotel Directors of Sales & Marketing to conduct business reviews and develop marketing and sales strategies and tactics which support revenue maximization, enhancement of brands and returns to owners for new and existing hotels.

·         Reviews marketing and sales budgets and allocated expenditures to ensure most effective use of funds available to support business objectives.

·         Conduct periodical reviews on all managed hotels in Greater China and identify hotels with a shortfall in revenue against budget or a downtrend in business. Work with the hotels on developing strategies and plans addressing the issues and follow through on the execution.

·         Oversees the GSO key account strategies, RFPs, pursuit of new business for existing hotels and new openings. Provide constant feedback with marketing intelligence for the sales team to follow up on.

·         Supports the Revenue Management team to ensure effective use of revenue management systems in the region to maximize revenue opportunities.

·         Participates in the development of the pre-opening sales and revenue planning of new hotels and to ensure that the plans are well executed. Keeps abreast of Sales & Marketing related best practices in the assigned area and take the initiative to share with other DOSMs.

·         Ensure synergy in the use of hotel operating systems, technology and sales practices and the sharing of best practices.

·         Supports and monitors overall Wyndham Rewards loyalty program marketing, operational and communications strategies for China aligned with overall program goals and positioning to drive membership and engagement.

·         Assists the brand marketing team on special projects and new brand initiatives as well as ensuring that the hotels and brands are well represented in collaterals, advertising, promotions and displays. Ensure that all brand standards and values are maintained at all times.

·         Provide sales & marketing guidance to pre-opening hotels to facilitate a smooth hotel opening and transition into operations.

·         Work closely with Hotel Opening Team and Sales & Marketing functional leads to develop a Sales & Marketing opening critical path, tools and tracking for managed hotels in Greater China to shorten the ramp-up after opening.

 

Team Management & Talent Development

·         Lead, develop and train commercial team members to be a high performance / best in class team

·         Identify high potential talents for development in the assigned area. Ensure that there are Personal Development Plans for the individuals and the plans are well executed.

·         Work closely with commercial functional team leaders and Human Resources in identifying external candidates for the ongoing development of the region.

 

Requirements / Qualifications:

 ·         Bachelor of Science degree required, masters degree preferred

·         20+ years working experience with at least 5+ years sales leadership experience in travel or hospitality industries

·         Strong speaking and written communication skills in English and Mandarin Chinese

·         Strong leadership skills and team building skills

·         Effective negotiating skills

·         Strong strategic thinking and strong tactical skills

·         Ability to work collaboratively with Operations, Marketing, Master Licensees and Franchisees / Owners

·         Strong problem solving / decision making skills

·         Experience with multi-brand entity is preferred
