KEY RELATIONSHIPS:

Report to Director, Training & Development, APAC

 

POSITIONS REPORTING TO THIS POSITION:

Training Intern

 

JOB OVERVIEW

This role will be an integral part of development for new courses, helping to mold the direction that the training team embarks on from a holistic prospective. Supports the Training Director and the regional operations teams in ensuring all content is effectively delivered in alignment with the Wyndham Hotels & Resorts' initiatives. The primary responsibility is to ensure the development, delivery and transference of professional training in intermediate hospitality operations content with a primary focus on quality, revenue and general brand operations. You will be required to travel regularly, up to 85% of the time in some weeks. As an employee, you are expected to interact in a team environment and be sensitive to diversity which includes both cultural and educational differences. This position requires a strong working relationship with the Regional Director of Training as well as all other regional functional groups. This position must be sensitive to deadline requirements. There is a need to effectively interact with internal and external customers in a professional manner. 

The expectation is that you will act as a project lead and / or assist the project lead(s) as appropriate. You will represent the company standards for knowledge, values and guiding principles. You are expected to model the organization's core values and represent yourself with integrity. 


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

FACILITATION

Facilitate up to approx. 300 people successfully on intermediate hospitality operations material per year.

Classroom management, logistics & follow-up.

Positively represent the Global Training department. 

Interact and educate internal customers (associate Training)

 

CONTENT MANAGEMENT

Identify training gaps via needs analysis in conjunction with subject matter experts as appropriate

Research content and delivery methods for new and existing training initiatives

Develop, implement, and evaluate courses

Update all related training materials on a regular basis

Deliver train the trainer sessions

 

ADMINISTRATION

Schedule & book travel in alignment with budget requirements

Initiate, schedule and execute training events including Regional Workshops & Onsite Training and etc.

Follow up with customers and management (Reports)

Complete monthly expense & accrual reports

Manage Budget

Act as project lead as assigned by line managed

 

MARKETING

Regional Relationships with DBDs, functional teams and Franchisees

Regional marketing

Attendance at Regional Meetings

 

This position will work in close coordination with the regional functional teams (operations, sales, marketing, etc), the regional Director of Training & Development, Directors of Business Development and properties during content and development and implementation. He / she needs to be a visionary and must remain flexible as changes occur. This position requires an on-going working knowledge of industry trends and best practices. The successful candidate will possess a highly professional demeanor when working with WHR employees and / or Properties.

 

Plays a key role in department’s performance both in terms of revenues and delivery of content by assuring knowledge transfer occurs to our internal and external customers in both brand and Wyndham Hotels & Resorts objectives / initiatives. The successful candidate adheres to Training department procedures and is accountable for their own travel budgets.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

At least 5 years training experience/presentation skills/public speaking

1-2 years’ experience as a hospitality role with good operational knowledge is an advance

Be good at MS Office operation, such, Power Point, Excel, Word & Outlook

Fluent English presentation, oral & written

Ability to work independently and take initiative

Self-motivated, detail oriented with a strong commitment to deadlines

Team player with the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from the facilitation staff, franchisees, and corporate representatives

Strong execution and follow-up ability to complete the tasks and keep timeline in control

Good written and verbal communication skills

Ability to multi-task
