Thompson Shanghai Expo, part of Hyatt Hotels Group’s lifestyle brand, is the first Thompson hotel in Asia. It is located in the Expo area of Pudong New District and aims to be the ideal choice for culture-savvy travelers seeking a dynamic home base where they can connect with each other and what inspires them.
The hotel is located in the Expo Place Diversified Lifestyle Venue, steps away from the Shanghai Expo Culture Park, Shanghai World Expo Exhibition and Convention Center, China Art Museum, the Mercedes-Benz Arena, and Expo Centre. It offers 270-degree views of the extraordinary Huangpu River, the magnificent cityscape, and the skyscrapers of Lujiazui in the distance.
Inspired by the pavilions of the Expo 2010 Shanghai China, the design of Thompson Shanghai Expo subtly presents a “pavilion within a pavilion.” The hotel's public areas are designed with a simple steel structure that creates a sense of transparency and space, eschewing the need for elaborate decorations and highlighting the original beauty of the building. The hotel offers 254 homely guestrooms and suites, over 3,300 sq m (35,520 sq ft) of stylish banqueting space, and three restaurants and bars featuring the flavors of Jiangnan alongside innovative cuisine. In addition, the hotel features a naturally lit swimming pool and gym, providing guests with an energetic and dynamic experience.
Thompson Shanghai Expo will exude social magnetism and refined sophistication, presenting a compelling story that explores the dichotomy of classic and modern Shanghai.
