The Job

The Director of Public Relations and Communications is responsible for the development and execution of an annual strategic and integrated plan that is comprised of public relations, social media and marketing communications strategies that support the hotel/resort’s business objectives, increase awareness and positive perception of the hotel, leading position in the community, its Food and Beverage outlets, Spa, services and personnel, partnerships and contribute to driving traffic and revenues.

 

Overview

  • Develop and execute a strategic plan including PR, social media and other marketing communications channels and partnerships to support the business objectives of the hotel
  • Deploy a creative content strategy across multiple owned and earned channels
  • Manage image and reputation management
  • Work closely with operational departments on marketing and promotions
  •  

Responsibilities

  • Proactive and creative in identifying and developing integrated PR, Social Media and content programs to achieve business objectives and elevate hotel visibility.
  • Develop relationships with local, regional and international media and influencers through fam hosting, story pitching and supervising photo shoots.
  • Manage hotel’s digital content strategy by creating relevant and engaging content across all property social media channels to increase followers and engagement.
  • Oversee hotel’s web and App content in alignment with Hotel’s positioning and business objectives.
  • Responsible for hotel’s reputation communication by  monitoring public attitudes, handling of online reviews, developing key messages and managing issues and crisis communications.
  • Provide market insights with deep understanding of Hotel’s marketplace including market trends and shifts, ongoing competition’s marketing and social media communications and online activities.
  • Collaborate with F&B and Spa teams to develop promotional and marketing activities calendar to maximize revenue opportunities.
  • Manage Corporate and external agencies relationships, act as brand guardian in providing marketing briefs and brand guideline.
  • Develop strategies on Hotel’s community relations, CSR initiatives, brand marketing partnerships.

Press Room

  • Post press releases and updates on the Press Room on a regular basis.

 

Social Media

  • Leverage social media channels to amplify key messages and activities, elevating the importance of strategic and creative communication.
  • Illustrate the power and resulting impact of improved social currency through effective monitoring and evaluation tools.

 

Corporate Tools and Agencies

  • Actively pitch stories to media as well as Corporate Communication channels (PS Weekly, Four Seasons Magazine print and online, blog, Living Values, etc.) and relevant global corporate PR agencies.

 

Media Database

  • Effectively maintain thorough, accurate and quality media contact database, including online publications and resource materials.

 

Optimize, Monitor and Measure

  • Leverage regional monitoring tools as available.

 

OTHER

  • To perform other tasks or responsibilities assigned by superiors.

Desired Skills & Experience

  • A minimum of five to seven years’ experience in public relations and/or marketing communications.
  • A university degree in journalism or communications or equivalent experience in public relations, journalism and/or marketing communications.
  • Proven relationships with media, community and business contacts that have delivered demonstrable results, and the personality to maximize these contacts.
  • Excellent communications skills (verbal and written) and strong interpersonal skills.
  • A self-starter that can multi-task and prioritize.
  • Proficiency in leveraging social media networks and related monitoring tools.
  • The ability to create newsworthy events, develop story ideas and follow through with pitch leads and creative digital execution.
  • A portfolio highlighting writing samples, project and media plans will be required.
